That means you can create bigger, better sounding mixes, with hundreds of processing channels and mix busses, while enjoying the tightest, most robust plug-in performance and lowest possible latency—with no round trips to external servers.

Achieve pristine sound through high-performance I/O

Scale your system with as little or as much I/O as you need with the VENUE | Stage 64 rack, featuring a new high-performance preamp design that delivers the best possible sound quality throughout the signal path, with incredible clarity, warmth, and presence. You can stock each Stage 64 with up to 64 inputs and 32 outputs, selecting from a variety of analog and digital option cards. The S6L control surface offers additional I/O, including 8x8 analog I/O, 8x8 AES I/O (4 pairs), two headphone outputs, and ancillary I/O such as MIDI and GPIO for added flexibility.

Get more creative with expanded plug-in processing

Mix with the same sound processors used in top studios to get the sounds you want, or re-create an artist’s signature studio sound live. Thanks to dedicated HDX-powered DSPs handling all plug-in processing, you can deploy an unprecedented number of plug-ins to fine-tune and finesse every channel to get the exact sounds you want. S6L directly supports Avid and third-party 64-bit AAX DSP plug-ins, giving you far more creative choices than other live mixing systems. And it comes with a coveted collection of effects, sound processing, and utility plug-ins, providing everything you need to create studio-quality mixes live.

Record and support the biggest shows with Pro Tools

S6L offers the most powerful and integrated live recording capabilities in the industry, providing seamless Pro Tools recording and playback. For recording, VENUE Link automatically creates a Pro Tools session from your current VENUE show file in seconds, complete with all track names and patching, so you can control your live mixing and recording rigs as one. You’ll also save valuable sound check and show prep time with Virtual Soundcheck, enabling you to use live recordings to fine-tune mixes, program snapshots, experiment with plug-ins, and more. And because of its tight Pro Tools integration, S6L is the perfect frontend into the Avid MediaCentral Platform, the most fluid end-to-end media management and distribution platform in the industry.

With its modular, scalable system architecture, you can freely mix and match your choice of control surface, engine, and I/O to support practically any live sound application. Choose from three control surface configurations to meet your needs. Select the ideal E6L engine to support your channel count requirements. Ramp up your plug-in processing power by adding more HDX cards to your engine (up to a maximum of four). And go from a maximum 64 mic inputs with one Stage 64 rack up to hundreds of I/O channels by connecting additional boxes.

Get complete connectivity freedom

VENUE | S6L uses open and reliable Ethernet AVB across all of its components, so all you need are either lightweight, inexpensive Cat5e cables for runs up to 100 meters, or use fiber-optic cables for longer runs up to 500 meters, to connect everything, putting an end to expensive, bulky analog snakes. You can even daisy-chain stage boxes to create a reliable, redundant, self-healing network ring with the engine. What’s more, the modular system is capable of supporting Dante, MADI, Thunderbolt, and other emerging technologies* to ensure compatibility with a wide variety of Avid and third-party products, enabling you to easily connect S6L into any new installation or existing environment.

Share I/O across multiple systems

Forget fussing with bulky, analog splits; with S6L you can easily share the same I/O across multiple networked systems—without any loss of audio quality. That means an FOH engineer, monitor engineer, and remote broadcast mixer can all use the same set of stage inputs—without splitting signals—while True Gain technology automatically manages gain compensation to ensure the proper signal levels in each engineer’s mix. Save thousands by reducing I/O and cable requirements, set-up time, and transportation costs, adding to the inherent value S6L brings.

Sporting a new modern, high visibility look, VENUE | S6L is powered by the same easy-to-use VENUE software as our other live sound systems, so you’ll feel right at home and can start mixing with the same high efficiency. Plus, you can use existing VENUE show files with S6L, significantly minimizing set-up time.

As comfortable on stage as in the audience

With its massive mix bus capacity, S6L makes it easy to handle dozens of stereo in-ear monitor mixes, wedge mixes, and backline mixes on the fly, with immediate one-touch access to any mix on the faders. Monitor mixes with confidence through two independent stereo solo busses, each assignable to any physical output for connection to a cue belt pack and/or listen wedge. Two built-in headphone jacks are also available on the control surface for local monitoring.
