Passive 18-inch installation subwoofer

The professional high-power installation subwoofer shall be a bass reflex design incorporating an 18-inch (460 mm) low frequency ceramic transducer with a 4-inch (100 mm) voice coil.

The subwoofer shall meet the following performance criteria: frequency response of 38 Hz to 101 kHz, measured on-axis; sensitivity (1W @ 1m) of minimum 97 dB SPL in half space; maximum rated SPL at 1m (passive) of 126 dB continuous and 138 dB peak (crest factor of 12 dB); rated power capacity (passive) of continuous 750W based on a two-hour power test; nominal impedance of 8 Ohms.

The subwoofer input connectors shall include both two NL4 Speakon connectors and one euroblock connector.

The subwoofer shall have a cubical enclosure constructed of 15mm baltic external plywood. It shall have a polyurea black paint (RAL 9011) finish. The front of loudspeaker shall be protected by an 16-Gauge (1.5 mm) powder-coated steel grille that is lined with acoustically transparent backing and a stainless metallic screen to prevent water ingress and is free of logos or other embellishment. This grille shall be treated against UV and corrosion. The loudspeaker shall be IP54, and all exterior fasteners shall be stainless steel. The input cup shall be protected by a sealing plate.

The subwoofer shall have a 6-point integrated rigging system allowing the deployment of 6 subwoofers with a safety factor of 10:1. It shall be symmetric to allow a cardioid deployment by rotating one of the subwoofers in the array or stack. It shall be possible to mount a PL-LA12 Line Array without the need of an Array Frame between the subwoofer and the line array in ground stack or flown operation. The rigging system shall provide a metallic continuity from top to bottom thanks to a strut located inside the subwoofer.

The loudspeaker system enclosure shall be 20.9 in (532mm) high, 24.4 in (620 mm) wide, and 29.2 in (741 mm) deep. The loudspeaker shall have a net weight of no more than 102.2 lb (46.3 kg).

The Passive 18-inch installation subwoofer shall be the Q-SYS PL-SUB18 loudspeaker.
