Overview:

The Shure ULXD2/N8SB is a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with ULX-D receivers. It comes equipped with a Nexadyne 8/S dynamic supercardioid capsule, featuring an innovative Revonic dual-transducer design that uses two separate, but interdependent sets of diaphragms, voice coils, and magnets. This unique technology gives this dynamic mic a condenser-like clarity with a crisp, yet natural high-end and plenty of detail—allowing vocalists to worry less about mic technique and instead focus on delivering powerful performances. The supercardioid polar pattern delivers tight directionality, high gain before feedback, and enhanced rejection of off-axis sound.

With a rugged, yet lightweight aluminum housing, the ULXD2/N8SB transmitter delivers pristine audio quality and RF performance, AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission, and advanced rechargeability options for professional sound-reinforcement applications.

Clear, Accurate Audio with Interchangeable Nexadyne 8/S Supercardioid Revonic Capsule

The transmitter comes with a Nexadyne 8/S mic capsule and delivers clear, reliable 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio over its entire 330' range, great for live performances and presentations in music venues, houses of worship, and conference spaces.

Shure's Nexadyne Revonic system is an innovative dynamic microphone design that uses two matched dynamic transducers, working in conjunction, to provide more opportunity for both greater sound quality and the rejection of unwanted signal.

Wiring the transducers out-of-phase cancels mechanical vibration, so self-noise is actively zeroed out. This makes traditional pneumatic shockmounts unnecessary, and allows the transducers to be optimized for acoustic performance.

Vocal performers will experience natural and vivid clarity when performing—enabled by a cartridge design that optimizes signal output acoustically, producing more of the desired sound source and less environmental and handling noise.

Engineers will receive stronger and clearer output, resulting in fewer EQ corrections that are often necessary with other mics to retain vocal clarity within the mix.

The supercardioid polar pattern provides tightly focused audio capture centered on the performer in front of the mic, reducing bleed from other sources for a clearer sound with substantially less feedback issues from on-stage monitors.

The interchangeable capsule design allows you to replace the Nexadyne 8/S capsule with a Shure capsule that’s ideal for your application and simply screw it onto the transmitter—including Nexadyne 8/S, KSM9, SM58, SM86, SM87A, Beta 58A, Beta 87A, Beta 87C capsules, and more.

User-Friendly Features in a Rugged Housing

The transmitter offers an ultrawide 138 MHz tuning range from 470 to 608 MHz, allowing you to use it across a wide geographical range with a compatible ULX-D receiver.

The unit quickly syncs with a wireless receiver via infrared at the touch of a button.

Shure Proprietary Gain Ranging automatically adjusts the mic input level, eliminating the need for transmitter gain adjustments.

The power button conveniently doubles as mute switch, while preserving RF lock.

Frequency and power lockout functions prevent accidental or unauthorized changes during events.

A backlit LCD with easy-to-navigate menu and controls lets you quickly access frequency, group, and channel settings, along with mute and lock status, RF output, and remaining battery life.

1/10/20mW selectable RF output power allows you to increase either the transmitter's range or the number of mics operating simultaneously.

Convenient Power Management Options

Operates for up to 11 hours on two AA batteries.

Optional Shure SB900B lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack offers intelligent power management with over 8 hours of battery life, precision metering in hours and minutes, and zero memory effect.

External charging contacts allow for docked battery charging with the SBC200 dual-docking charger (available separately).

The networkable SBC220 charger (available separately) allows for remote power monitoring via Shure’s Wireless Workbench software.
