Overview:

Designed for use as a main PA, high-performance stage monitor, or front fill, the JBL SRX912M is a ultracompact, 12" powered 2-way point-source loudspeaker that provides remarkable output for its size. It is well suited for rental companies, touring artists, DJs, and installations. The integrated DSP and amplification offer a true plug-and-play experience while providing consistency and optimum performance anywhere in the world.

The 12" woofer employs JBL's patented Differential Drive technology, while the 1.5" annular-diaphragm compression driver features a rotatable 90x60° Progressive Transition waveguide for smooth, predictable coverage. The drivers are powered by the built-in Class-D amplifier. The enclosure is made from outdoor-grade Baltic birch materials for excellent durability, while the six M10 rigging points allow for flexibility in deployment whether in ground stacking or rigging. A full-featured software package provides users control of the system on various platforms including Windows, Mac, and iOS for iPad.

The Complete Ecosysem

The SRX900 Series supports a wide range of use with a full lineup of loudspeaker formats, including line arrays, point-source models, and flyable or ground-stacked subwoofers. All models share consistent voicing, amplification, and DSP, and use common rigging and accessory options. A unified software platform ties the system together, creating a seamless, integrated ecosystem. The result is a future-ready solution that scales smoothly as business needs and system requirements evolve.

Top-Tier Sound Quality

Sound quality is the foundation of the SRX900 Series. Drawing on transducer technologies developed for JBL’s flagship touring systems, SRX912M delivers clean, detailed sound typically associated with top-tier touring systems.

The SRX912M's woofer is built on JBL’s proprietary Differential Drive dual-voice-coil, dual-gap design, which provides better heat dissipation, reduced power compression, and a wider dynamic range compared to conventional single-coil designs. This advanced motor architecture provides an ideal balance of output, weight, and thermal performance in an ultra-compact form factor.

SRX900 loudspeakers use proven JBL Professional compression drivers, selected to match the performance requirements of each loudspeaker. Line arrays use the 2432H-3 3" dome compression driver, taking advantage of its extended low-frequency capability to ensure a smooth transition between the HF and LF sections. Point-source models use the 2408H-1 1.5" compression driver, which offers smooth high-frequency extension in a compact package. Both drivers use neodymium motor structures that maximize efficiency while keeping overall weight and size to a minimum.

Directivity Control

Directivity has been in JBL Professional’s DNA for decades, with the company pioneering numerous technologies to perfect the science of controlling sound. A system that sounds great at front of house is good, but one that delivers excellent sound throughout the entire venue is truly exceptional.

Point-source models use JBL’s patented Progressive Transition (PT) horns, developed to deliver improved real-world performance by balancing frequency response, pattern control, and distortion. A defining characteristic of this waveguide technology is the absence of a traditional diffraction slot; instead, the horn’s sidewalls transition smoothly from the driver throat to the rectangular mounting flange. This design enables constant beamwidth and constant directivity while improving frequency response, reducing distortion, and avoiding the typical “horn sound."

Sophisticated DSP

SRX900 models include a powerful DSP that provides all the tools needed to optimize and tune a system, including 24-band parametric EQ and 2000 ms of delay. JBL's proprietary Array Size Compensation (ASC) filter corrects for the tonal effects of different array sizes, while the FIR-based Throw Distance Compensation (TDC) filter offsets air-related high-frequency loss to achieve more uniform coverage without hours of measurement and manual tuning.

Minimum Protection

SRX900 incorporates JBL's advanced LevelMax limiter suite, co-developed with Crown engineers for Crown's I-Tech HD touring amplifiers. These limiters employ sophisticated excursion-control algorithms to protect transducers from mechanical overdrive, while RMS limiting and long-term thermal management keep voice-coil temperatures in check. The result is consistent, reliable performance, even under the most demanding operating conditions.

Future-Proof Networking

SRX900 supports HARMAN's HControl Ethernet protocol, which streamlines network set up and removes the need for complex IP addressing. Users assign a simple numerical ID to each device for easy identification. Two switched network ports reduce wiring complexity and enable convenient daisy-chaining. And because HControl is built on standard networking protocols, systems can integrate cost-effective, off-the-shelf hardware such as Ethernet switches and Wi-Fi access points.

Complete Software Ecosystem

SRX900's powerful software ecosystem elevates the individual components into a complete system solution. JBL Venue Synthesis 3D acoustic simulation software enables accurate prediction of the acoustical and mechanical performance of SRX900 systems through a streamlined workflow. The JBL Performance application provides multi-platform system control and monitoring, offering an intuitive interface for configuration, preset management, device grouping, and real-time supervision. ArrayLink serves as a mobile companion to Venue Synthesis, delivering array angles and mechanical data to mobile devices for fast, accurate deployment.

The Power of Powered

SRX900 products are self-powered, eliminating the need for external amplifiers and complicated amplifier racks. The powered architecture enables true plug-and-play operation, with products delivering consistent, great-sounding results right out of the box. Custom Class-D amplifiers are specifically engineered to match the characteristics of the SRX900 transducers, delivering maximum performance in the most efficient package possible. The amplifier thermal design includes large external heat sinks, ensuring reliable full-power operation, even under demanding temperature conditions. A universal switching-mode power supply operates on any mains voltage between 100 and 250V, and an automatic low-power mode reduces energy consumption when no audio is present.

Fast, Safe, Easy Rigging System

SRX900 Series line arrays feature a three-point rigging system, making suspending systems safe and easy, regardless of system size or user experience level. Point-source products include multiple QuickLink M10 attachment points for use with eyebolts and to attach to the comprehensive set of dedicated accessories. Available accessories include array frames, base plates, U-brackets, pole-mounts, and truss-clamps as well as cases, carts, and covers.

Professional-Build Quality

SRX900 Series line array loudspeakers use reinforced composite enclosures, while the point-source models and subwoofers feature durable plywood cabinets. All enclosures are FEA-optimized to maximize strength while minimizing weight. Internal CAD-optimized bracing minimizes cabinet flex and further improves performance. As with all JBL professional products, SRX900 models undergo rigorous testing, are built to last, and are backed by a comprehensive 5-year warranty.
