The keycard station communicates wirelessly with Echoflex Controllers making it easy to add suite level setback control of heating, air conditioning, and lighting circuits, thus reducing energy consumption and operational costs. The keycard station is available as battery-powered (KSS) and kinetic-powered (PTM265KA) models.
Keycard stations are commonly used in the hospitality industry to provide energy savings in guest suites and rooms. Keycards supplied by the facility to guests for the suite’s door lock are inserted into the switch station indicating the suite’s occupied state. When the guests leave, they remove the keycard which indicates a pending vacant state. Linked room control devices can be used to setback temperature controls or turn lighting circuits off to conserve energy.
The KSS model is powered by a replaceable coin cell battery and has an expected lifetime of 100,000 actuations over 10 years. The low-profile and discreet LED indicators behind a clean faceplate give the KSS a sleek contemporary appearance. When a card is inserted, the station provides a soft audible click and a green LED blink. A red LED blink indicates a low battery condition. For no-maintenance applications, the PTM265KCA model uses an integrated mechanical energy harvester and is completely battery free.
The stations are designed to fit in a standard wall outlet or mud ring (KSS - back support plate provided) or can be installed flush mounted with screws (PTM365KCA - requires a flush mount plate ). For installations over line voltage boxes, a separate barrier plate kit is available. See the Accessory section for UL approved barrier kits and flush mount kits.
