Overview

The OG-FiDO-2R-12G is a state of the art, openGear compatible, 2-channel Fiber to 12G-SDI converter, enabling 12G-SDI signals to be extended up to 10 km (32,808 ft) over standard single mode fiber optic cable. The two fiber inputs are completely independent allowing different 12G-SDI rates to be carried on each channel.

AJA openGear OG-FiDO products are designed for use in high density openGear 2RU frames including AJA’s OG-X-FR frame, with industry standard DashBoard software support on Windows®, macOS® and Linux®, offering remote control and monitoring over a PC or local network

HDR Pass-Through Support

HDR or High Dynamic Range, provides the ability to display a wider and richer range of colors, much brighter whites, and much deeper, darker blacks than SDR or Standard Dynamic Range signals allow. This gives your imagery a more ‘dynamic’ look and allows for natural true to life colors to be communicated to your audience.

This diagram shows four OG-FiDO-2R-12G openGear cards being used in a OG-X-FR rack frame that is housed in an OB Truck. The rack is close to the mobile production gallery. Up to 10km away is a live concert event stage, which is being covered by eight 12G-SDI cameras. In pairs, these cameras are connected to OG-FiDO-2T-12G converters, providing a 12G-SDI to fiber conversion. The four OG-FiDO-2R-12G openGear cards provide the fiber to 12G-SDI conversion from the fiber pairs received from the stage. These eight 12G-SDI feeds are driving the OB truck production gallery monitors with ultra low latency.

Connectivity

Both Fiber and 12G-SDI inputs are reclocked with best in class input jitter tolerance. 12G-SDI input and output support, which includes 6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI. Both signal paths are independent and can be different rates. Supports single mode fiber cable.

openGear Compatibility

The openGear standard ensures that AJA cards will be compatible with other openGear products from certified openGear partners. With a growing list of products, openGear is the standard for professional rackframe solutions.

Flexible I/O

The modular rear panel allows custom I/O connections per card (included with individual cards).

Failsafe

The optional redundant power supply provides a secondary power source in the event of a primary power failure.

Ethernet Access

A standard Ethernet connection allows the frame to be accessed via the Ross DashBoard software application for overall frame communication. Optional per-card Ethernet access can be installed in the frame for advanced communication with compatible openGear cards

DashBoard Software

Ross DashBoard software offers quick and convenient configuration of openGear cards on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
