Overview
The 12G-AM is an 8-channel AES audio embedder/disembedder Mini-Converter with support for 12G-SDI input and output up to 4K/UltraHD. Fiber models offer single link fiber I/O including LC and ST options.
AES Audio disembedding is always functional, providing four AES outputs. Audio embedding is user selectable, on a channel pair basis, to either pass 12G-SDI input audio or to embed input AES audio from the breakout cable.
The 12G-AM automatically detects and configures the input video standard.

HDR Pass-Through Support
HDR or High Dynamic Range, provides the ability to display a wider and richer range of colors, much brighter whites, and much deeper, darker blacks than SDR or Standard Dynamic Range signals allow. This gives your imagery a more ‘dynamic’ look and allows for natural true to life colors to be communicated to your audience.
12G-AM Workflow
The 12G-AM in this workflow diagram is receiving 4K video and embedded audio via 12G-SDI. At the same time, the 12G-AM is disembedding AES audio to the AES I/O for mixing.
The output of the mixer is then embedded into the SDI stream being output via the 12G-SDI port of the 12G-AM. This 12G-SDI output is fed directly to a Ki Pro Ultra 12G to record the original 4K video with the newly embedded, mixed audio.
Supplied Breakout Cable
The included breakout cable (12G-AM CBL DB25-8XLR) supports 2-channels of AES per XLR connector for 8-channels of input and 8-channels of output simultaneously.
An optional BNC breakout cable for AES (12G-AM CBL DB25-8BNC) is available separately.
USB and Mini-Config Support
AJA’s free Mini-Config software can be used with any USB-enabled AJA Mini-Converter and provides an easy-to-use graphical interface with detailed information about the current input and output formats. Control all the parameters of any supported AJA Mini-Converter as well as loading firmware updates from AJA that add new features and functionality.
Universal Power Supply
Customers can purchase a spare universal power supply for use with any of their Mini-Converters. This universal power supply includes international plug connections for use around the world.
Compact and Portable
AJA Mini-Converters are small enough to fit behind a monitor, in the back of a rack, or directly on a camera rig. A locking power connector can't accidentally pull loose and an optional P-TAP power cable allows for battery power in remote locations.

Video Path Delay
